Isn't it just opening the bottle, pouring it into a glass, and drinking it in one gulp? It's that simple. But in fact, although the saying "deep feelings, one gulp" can be drunk this way for beer, it is really difficult for wine.

Step 1: Control the temperature of the red wine.
Red wine is traditionally served at room temperature, between 18 and 21°C (white wine between 9 and 12°C). This temperature allows red wines of all vintages to reach their peak. A chilled red wine will have more pronounced tannins than a room-temperature wine, resulting in a more astringent taste. White wine, on the other hand, is best enjoyed chilled, emphasizing freshness and acidity. The correct way to drink is to hold the stem of a stemmed glass with your fingers rather than holding it with your hand. Otherwise, the temperature difference will affect the wine's harmony.

Step 2: Sober up.
A bottle of fine wine that has been sitting for years may have an off-flavor when first opened. This is when it needs to be "awakened." Pour the wine into a fine decanter and let it sit for ten minutes; the off-flavor will dissipate. A decanter is typically designed to maximize the contact area between the wine and air. Once the wine is fully oxidized, its rich aroma is revealed. This process can be extended, ideally up to an hour, to create an atmosphere overflowing with the wine's aroma.

Step 3: Observe the wine.
The red color of red wine is enough to captivate the heart. When pouring red wine, the basic requirement is to place the wine glass horizontally so that the wine does not spill. In good light, place the wine glass horizontally on a piece of white paper and observe the edge of the wine. Clearly layered wine is likely new, while evenly colored wine is older. A slightly brownish hue suggests a vintage.

Step 4: Drink.
Before you drink the wine, take a deep sniff. You'll already be able to appreciate its subtle aroma. New wine has a strong fruity flavor, while aged wine tends to be more restrained. Take a sip, let it rest in your mouth for a moment, roll it around on your tongue, take a deep breath to fully experience the wine, and finally, swallow it all. A subtle aroma will immediately linger.

Step 5: Wine order.
When drinking, you should follow the principle of drinking new wine first and old wine later, and drinking light wine first and strong wine later.
The purpose of shaking the wine glass is to observe the maturity of the wine. Shake the glass and observe the slowly flowing wine legs (then tilt the glass 45 degrees and observe the color of the wine and the edge of the liquid surface (ideally under natural light). This step can determine the maturity of the wine. The color of red wine will gradually fade over time. When young, it is deep red with purple, then gradually turns to red or cherry red, then to red with an orange-red or brick red, and finally to reddish brown.

Step 6: Can the same glass be used for different red wines?
Of course not. In fact, different cups are needed according to the brewing characteristics, raw materials and taste of each wine, so that the taste of the wine can be brought to the extreme.
