A Fine Wine Review Starts with the Bottle
For fine wine, the estate, vintage, bottle size and storage condition must be checked separately. An original wooden case, purchase records and long-term storage history can help establish context, but the bottle itself remains decisive.
Bottles from the same estate and vintage may still differ in fill level, capsule, labels and storage history. For fine wine, one blurred bottle image cannot support a fixed purchase price or final assessment.
What We Check
We review the estate and vintage, fill level, capsule, labels, bottle, size, original case and storage history. If the estate, vintage, fill or case evidence is incomplete, we request the exact bottle view still needed.
- Show the complete front and back labels
- Photograph the fill level, capsule, bottle base and size statement
- Include the original wooden case, purchase receipts or storage history where available
Before Handover
Do not wipe the labels, replace the capsule or add labels. Stand bottles upright before moving them and keep them away from heat and strong light.
- For several bottles, group photographs by wine and vintage
- Point out any leakage, low fill level or mould damage
- Discuss shop, on-site or agreed-location handover only after the review
