Are you a serious luxury watch collector? Probably not. Of course, this isn't for lack of desire or interest, as collecting high-end watches isn't a very , very expensive hobby. Instead, most of us simply own one, maybe two, beautiful watches at any given time – and you better believe we'd wear them every day, no matter the time or dress code. Of course, everyone has different tastes, and we can't agree on what the ideal "everyday" watch should look like.
The Omega Speedmaster needs no introduction. Debuting in 1957 as part of Omega's trilogy "Professional" series, it remains one of the Swiss brand's most successful models. Less than a decade later, in 1965, NASA astronauts wore one on their wrists during all six lunar landings, which is why the Speedmaster is often referred to today as the "Moonwatch." Technically, however, the case measures 42.5 mm in diameter and can be worn on a bracelet, leather, or NATO strap. Numerous variations exist, making the watch suitable for both dress-up and casual wear, and featuring a perfectly balanced dial, while chronographs often appear too refined. For historical precision, opt for a manual-winding movement, often visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.
