Common FAQs

What happens to the whisky after it's recycled?

We have long-term partnerships with local bars, high-end restaurants, private collectors, and overseas auction houses. After professional appraisal, the recycled items enter the secondary market. The process is transparent and confidential.

For Yamazaki, Hakushu, Miyagikyo, Yoichi, Taketsuru, and Macallan whiskies, how much will the price be affected if the liquid level drops or there is evaporation?

It depends on the extent. Evaporation of spirits (commonly known as "angel's share") causing the liquid level to fall below the shoulder will affect the valuation. As long as the seal is good and the drop is slight, it is still considered within the normal collection range.

Does it significantly affect the value if the wooden box or certificate is missing?

Having the original box and distillery certificate complete will add value, especially for high-vintage and limited editions. Missing items do not mean we won't accept them; it just means a corresponding adjustment will be made during valuation. We recommend sending photos with all accessories.

Are independent bottlings usually cheaper than official distillery bottlings?

Not necessarily. Single casks from renowned independent bottlers like Gordon & MacPhail, Signatory, and Cadenhead (especially from closed distilleries) may fetch higher market prices. Everything is based on the actual item, distillery, and vintage.

How do I get a free valuation from Wang Hong Hong?

Simply WhatsApp photos to us at 9453 0784. Take clear photos of the front label of the bottle, the liquid level at the neck, and the seal on the cap. We generally provide a reference price within 10 minutes. We offer free doorstep collection services in Hong Kong, Kowloon, New Territories, and Macau, or you can visit our store for immediate transaction.
