Packaging Integrity Original wooden box, wrapping paper, and certificates are complete and undamaged Missing outer box, box is damp, moldy, or damaged
Liquid Level Liquid level is high in the bottle neck (High Fill) Liquid level is significantly low (Low Fill), indicating poor sealing
Seal Condition Seal film is intact, with no looseness or leakage signs Film is broken, leaking, or shows signs of corrosion
Label Appearance Paper label is clean and complete, without yellowing, mold, or peeling Label is damaged, severely water-stained, or moldy due to dampness
Storage Environment Stored away from light, at constant temperature, upright Long-term exposure to sunlight, high temperature, stored horizontally leading to cork corrosion

Common FAQs

If the wine label is scratched or a corner is torn, how much will the price be reduced?

Minor marks will not significantly reduce the price; however, if the label is torn, the vintage is blurred, or the winery logo is unclear, it will affect market liquidity and lead to a deduction of approximately 10–20%.

For professional recycling of Yoichi 1990, if the liquid level of the original cask has dropped or evaporated, how much will the price be reduced?

It depends on the extent. Evaporation of spirits (commonly known as angel's share) causing the liquid level to drop below the shoulder will affect the valuation; as long as it is well-sealed and the drop is slight, it is still within the normal collection range.

Does it matter if the wooden box and certificate are missing?

Having the original box and winery certificate will add value, especially for high-vintage and limited editions. Missing them does not mean we won't accept them, but the estimated price will be adjusted accordingly. We recommend taking photos with all accessories.

Are independent bottlings generally cheaper than official distillery bottlings?

Not necessarily. Single casks bottled by well-known independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail, Signatory, and Cadenhead (especially from closed distilleries) may have higher market prices. Everything is based on the actual item, distillery, and vintage.

How do I get a free valuation from Hung Hong Trading Co.?

Simply WhatsApp us at 9453 0784 with clear photos of the wine bottle's front label, liquid level at the neck, and the capsule seal. We will usually reply with a reference price within 10 minutes. We offer free door-to-door collection services in Hong Kong, Kowloon, New Territories, and Macau, or you can visit our store for on-site transactions.
