Which movable works are covered by the murals and art collection?

Enquiries may cover movable or detachable murals, hanging pictures, oil paintings, Chinese paintings, calligraphy, prints and sculpture. Conservation of an immovable mural forming part of a building is outside the scope of this acquisition page.

Which parts of an oil painting, Chinese painting or calligraphy work should be photographed?

Start with the full work and dimensions, then show signatures and seals, medium, image details, frame edges, backing board, mounting, roller ends and any old labels. Do not provide only a distant front view.

How should certificates, receipts or old auction details be matched to a work?

Give the documents and work the same clear label, and photograph the name, date and matching details. If the pairing cannot be verified, list the document as supporting evidence rather than asserting the artist or authenticity.

How should multiple paintings and sculptures in a hotel or home be organised?

Assign each room and item a separate label. Note dimensions, condition, floor, lift, loading point and handling restrictions, then provide the overview and item list before discussing an on-site count.
