Buyback champagne/sake series
Champagne and Sake Buyback – Dom Pérignon, Krug, Juyondai: Instant Quotes for Limited Vintages

About Our Buyback Service
Champagne and high-end sake have seen significant appreciation in the Asian market in recent years. Vintages like Dom Pérignon 1996, 2002, and 2008 have all increased in value. Juyondai Ryusenn and Sohong are "dream sake" that are hard to acquire even with money. Hong Kang Trading specializes in buying back these limited-edition wines, offering transparent market prices, authenticating their genuineness, and understanding vintage recognition.
Suitable for: Gifting and reselling, investment liquidation, collectors' trades.
Vintage Champagne and Limited Edition Sake: Understanding Their Collectible Value
Champagne is broadly divided into "Non-Vintage" and "Vintage" categories, with vastly different collectible values. Non-vintage champagne is blended each year using base wines from different years, resulting in high production, stable prices, and little collectible value. Vintage champagne is only produced in good years; for example, Dom Pérignon typically releases only six to seven vintages per decade, making it inherently scarce.
Dom Pérignon also has a unique "Plénitude" series: P2 is the second release after approximately 16 years of aging and disgorgement, and P3 is even older, aged for over 25 years. P2 typically fetches 3-4 times the price of the standard version, while P3 is even rarer and less commonly seen on the market. Krug and Salon vintage champagnes follow a similar collection logic – low production, consistent quality, and high brand recognition.
In terms of sake, Juyondai has been the most sought-after brand in recent years. Its series has a clear rarity ranking: Ryusenn is the rarest, followed by Sohong, Ryugessu, then Shichitare Nijukkan, and Chuguri Daiginjo. The brewing year (BY) also influences the value, but overall, Juyondai's pricing is more determined by the rarity of the sake itself rather than the vintage.
Sake preservation differs from red wine; it needs to be refrigerated (below 5°C), and most sake does not have aging potential, deteriorating in quality the longer it's kept. Therefore, if you have Juyondai or other limited edition sake, selling it while it's fresh is often the best strategy.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a bottle of Dom Pérignon 2008 worth?
A single bottle of Dom Pérignon 2008 retails for approximately HKD 1,800–2,500, with a buyback price of HKD 1,200–1,800 depending on its condition. If it's a P2/P3 or Rosé version, the price can be 30–60% higher.
How much is Juyondai Ryusenn worth?
Only about 2,000 bottles of Juyondai Ryusenn are produced each year, and in the Hong Kong market, a single bottle can fetch HKD 15,000–25,000, with some vintages going even higher. The exact price depends on the brewing year and storage conditions.
If champagne is not stored in a refrigerator, will you still buy it?
It depends on the storage conditions. If it has been stored long-term in a kitchen or near a window (high temperature, strong light), the champagne will "cook" and turn acidic, in which case it has no buyback value. If it has been stored long-term in a dark, cool place (under a kitchen cabinet, inside a wardrobe, in a wine cabinet), there is usually no major issue. We recommend sending us photos for assessment.
Can sake past its expiration date be bought back?
Junmai Daiginjo sake is generally recommended for consumption within 1–2 years, but top-tier sake like Juyondai, due to stable fermentation, can still have collectible value if it's in good condition within 5 years past its expiration date. We need to inspect the body and color of the sake specifically.
